Service Description
A 6-week AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy training class in Three Forks, MT for puppies ages 6 weeks to 1 year. Build obedience, confidence, and prepare for the optional AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy title. The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Class is a structured 6-week puppy training program designed to help puppies and their owners build a strong foundation using positive reinforcement training methods. This class is the perfect first step for new puppy owners looking to develop essential skills, improve behavior, and set their puppy up for long-term success. The program also prepares teams to earn the American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. Puppy title and serves as a stepping stone toward the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program. Over the 6-week course, you and your puppy will work on: • Puppy socialization skills • Collar and leash training • Body handling and vet readiness • Preventing and managing resource guarding • Disengaging from distractions • Sit, down, and basic obedience cues • Polite behavior with a friendly stranger This class focuses on building confidence, engagement, and real-world skills through reward-based, positive reinforcement training. Please bring the following to each class: • Current vaccination records • Flat collar or harness • 6-ft leash (no retractable leashes) • Plenty of high-value treats

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy: If Client fails to give at least 24 hours cancellation notice, or is not present at time of scheduled appointment, session fees are still due. Liability: If Dog causes property damage, or bites or injures any dog, animal or person (including but not limited to Trainer and Trainer’s agents), during or after the term of this Agreement, then Client agrees to pay all resulting losses and damages suffered or incurred, and to defend and indemnify Trainer and Trainer’s agents from any resulting claims, demands, lawsuits, losses, costs or expenses, including attorney fees. If Dog is injured in a fight or in any other manner during or after the term of the Agreement, Client assumes the risk and agrees that Trainer should not be held responsible for any resulting injuries, losses, damages, costs or expenses. At Trainer's sole election, Trainer's duties hereunder shall terminate if (a) in Trainer's sole judgment Dog is dangerous or vicious to Trainer or any other person or animal, or interferes with the training of other dogs, or (b) Client breaches any term or condition of this Agreement. Upon termination in accordance with the foregoing, Trainer's duties shall terminate but all other provisions of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect. Montana-Specific Legal Provisions 1. In accordance with Montana Code Annotated (MCA) § 27-1-715, client assumes full responsibility for damages or injury caused by their dog while under the care of Shadow Paws Training. 2. In compliance with Montana dog bite and liability laws, client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Shadow Paws Training from any claims arising from the dog’s behavior unless due to gross negligence. 3. Client affirms the dog is properly vaccinated and licensed in accordance with local Montana municipal regulations. 4. In the event of severe weather conditions common to Montana (extreme cold, ice, wildfire smoke, excessive heat), Shadow Paws Training reserves the right to modify services for safety. 5. Any disputes arising under this agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Montana and venue shall lie in the county where services are provided. Client releases and waives liability against Shadow Paws Training for injury, illness, loss, or damage except in cases of proven gross negligence or willful misconduct. Client accepts full financial responsibility for injuries or damages caused by their dog.
