These classes help owners confidently take the first important steps toward building solid obedience skills, guiding both dog and owner as they work together to achieve their very first titles and become a successful, well-trained team.
AKC Fit Dog Class
The AKC Fit dog class is the perfect, fun-filled way to help keep your best furry friend healthy and in great shape during the cold and chilly winter months! Join us to learn how to target specific muscle groups effectively while bonding with your dog, all while working toward achieving the prestigious Fit Dog Level 1 title in the meantime!

Who is this class for:
Puppies and dogs who have taken at least one obedience or puppy class
Dogs and handlers who have a basic understanding of how to lure and shape behaviors with their dog
Who is this class NOT for:
Dogs recovering from injuries
Dogs who are in pain

Class Overview:
The AKC Fit Dog Level 1 course is designed to teach foundational skills essential for participating in a well-rounded canine fitness program. This course specifically focuses on building a solid base for fitness and is not intended to address any physical therapy requirements, making it unsuitable for dogs currently recovering from injuries. Through this program, your dog will benefit from a reduced risk of injury, enhanced strength, improved flexibility, and enriched mental and physical stimulation. By boosting mental engagement, the class also contributes positively to your dog’s overall behavioral wellness. Additionally, the Fit Dog Class helps alleviate boredom, builds your dog’s confidence, and can effectively eliminate many common problem behaviors, making it a fun and rewarding experience for both you and your furry friend.

This class is a tribute to my heart dog Rosie! In the 15 years I was lucky enough to have her in my life, we learned so many tricks that I probably should have made written them all down!
So in this AKC trick class, you and your dog are able to pick 10 different tricks to master to earn your AKC Novice Trick Dog title!

Puppies and dogs 5 months and older
Dogs and handlers with little to no previous training

The AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program provides a perfect framework for training your dog to become a polite member of society. The test items are practical and functional behaviors that every dog should have to be welcomed in any community.
Each week, we will systematically outline the techniques required to execute each behavior, ensuring its natural adoption by your canine companion. By utilizing the knowledge acquired during class, you and your dog will have the opportunity to practice at home, thereby reinforcing and progressing your training for the subsequent week.
Following the completion of the five-week class, you and your canine companion will be prepared to take the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test, thereby qualifying for the prestigious AKC Canine Good Citizen title.

Class Overview:
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy was designed to get dog owners and their puppy off on the right paw! This class is the perfect first in-person experience for puppies and new dog owners alike. You'll learn essential skills like house training, managing chewing behaviors, and much more to set your puppy up for success. Plus, it serves as an ideal stepping stone toward the Canine Good Citizen Prep class and the Canine Good Citizen test. Let's make training fun and effective from day one!
Puppies that are striving for the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy title must attend all six classes. On week six, you and your puppy will be administered the test. Then you will get an application to send into the AKC for the title.
